Thank you for your SMPMC Examination Savings Plan (ESP) purchase. Our ESP provides a reduced-price Covered Examination for selected veterinary examination types offered by SMPMC doctors for one year following purchase.


PawsPlan Pricing for 2026:

  • 50% of the regular examination price.
  • WellPet Rewards Clients (18 months of age and older): $149/year. An ESP MUST be purchased the same time WellPet lab work is performed.
  • Standard ESP Price (non-WellPet clients, pets under 18 months of age): $229/year


PawsPlan Terms & Conditions:

  • PawsPlan-covered examinations are exclusive to Santa Monica Pet Medical Center. The reduced-fee period ends 12 months after the PawsPlan purchase date. Covered examinations are limited to wellness, medical concern, drop-off, and urgent care categories. Drop-off examination cage occupancy fees (if applicable) and facility bio-hazard waste fees are additional. Specialist consultations, second opinions, emergency, and acupuncture examinations are excluded. The PawsPlan is not pet insurance and does not cover medical procedures, diagnostics, treatments, medications, service fees, or related goods and services. All prices include sales tax unless otherwise noted.

  • A PawsPlan applies to one pet per agreement, is non-transferable, and NON-REFUNDABLE.

  • A PawsPlan does not automatically renew.

  • Appointment cancellations must follow SMPMC policy to avoid early cancellation fees.

  • Continued PawsPlan use requires adherence to the Santa Monica Pet Medical Center Client Code of Conduct (can be read at www.petmedical.com). If a VCPR (veterinarian-client-patient-relationship governed by state law) is terminated for cause, the PawsPlan for all patients is void.

  • Any disputes regarding the PawsPlan will be resolved through mediation or small court claims as permitted by law.

  • The PawsPlan purchase price and terms are subject to change at any time.
