Pet emergencies can be scary whether your pet ate something toxic, was involved in an accident, or has any other urgent health concern, the team at Santa Monica Pet Medical Center is ready to assist you. Call us first to describe the problem, and we will help get you to the right place, whether our facility or somewhere else.
Unsure if it’s an emergency? You can always call us for guidance. However, there are certain things you should be aware of. It’s an emergency if your pet:
Suffers any kind of blunt force trauma such as being hit by a car or falling a long way
Vomits blood or has blood in urine or feces
Experiences symptoms of a seizure or heatstroke
Ingests a toxic substance such as a household cleaner or pest poison
Shows signs of extreme pain such as shaking, refusal to socialize, and whining
Becomes disoriented and begins to bump into things
Please call ahead before coming in to ensure we have appropriate medical staff to effectively handle your pet's emergency. If we don't we will try and direct you to an emergency hospital equipped for 24 hour care.
We can either provide emergency care during our office hours, or we will send you to an emergency facility, depending on the type of emergency:
Monday - Saturday: 8:30am – 6:00pm
We are closed on Sunday.
