Dawn Erikson Amor, DVM

Dr. Amor, or Dr. Erikson Amor, as many know her, is a dog and cat lover extraordinaire! She tries to put her best "paw" forward for every patient she sees. Dr. Amor is particularly mindful to take it slow and steady, recognizing the shyness and anxiety that can develop when a pet is at the doctor's office. She loves to get lots of kisses, smell "puppy breath", and hear a cat purr underneath her stethoscope.

She is a wife and mother of 2 boys, and the family also includes 2 dogs, "Bridgette" and "Lucky" and a cat named "Stretch". Her husband, David, is the Practice Manager of Woodland Veterinary Hospital and shares her love of animals. In fact, they met when Dr. Amor took care of "Bridgette" 8 years ago!

Heather Price, DVM

Dr. Heather Price is a native of Richmond, Virginia. She obtained her undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University in Zoology and attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Her main veterinary specialties include internal medicine, reproduction, acupuncture and exotic animals.

Dr. Price and her husband, John, have been married for 5 years. They have 3 Australian Shepherds (Skyler, Grits and Cash) and 2 cats (Phantom and Lilly).

Dr. Price is very active in performance dog sports and conformation showing. Skyler and Grits both hold multiple agility titles and Cash is a breed champion in AKC and ASCA. She is an active member of Merrimac Dog Training Club, Australian Shepherd Club of America, and the United States Australian Shepherd Association. In her spare time, she attends dog shows. Dr. Price also teaches dog training classes at Merrimac Dog Training Club.

	David, Practice Manager David joined our team as the Practice Manager in July 2006, after a satisfying career in student counseling. David had already been a large part of Woodland because he often helped Dr. Amor on weekends and in the evenings so this was a natural transition for him. David shares Dr. Amor’s love of animals and enjoys meeting all the pets and their owners. He likes to make people laugh and sees the best in any situation. David is fluent in Spanish which comes in handy with our Spanish-speaking clients.

	Alyssa, Veterinary Receptionist Alyssa was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida and moved to Virginia in July 2007. She loves being in the veterinary field and enjoys meeting and taking care of all the furry creatures that come into Woodland. When she is not at work, she is taking care of her 3 dogs, Dakota, Dinky, and Dodger, and her one cat Kita. In her free time, she enjoys going out with friends, hanging out at the beach, and seeing movies.

	Jane, Licensed Veterinary Technician Jane was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Her weekends were captured moments packed with rabbits, dogs, birds, and a black cat. Her military travels found her future husband, Greg, who is now retired from the US Coast Guard. Jane's family, which consists of three children and a German Shepherd, has roamed across the country, but in 1992 they all settled in the Hampton Roads area. Jane has been working as a vet assistant and LVT for 11 years, and she loves to read and trek with her granddaughter and her yellow Lab around her neighborhood.

	Savannah, Pet Groomer & Veterinary Assistant Savannah is newly married and a native of Newport News. She has 3 dogs and 2 birds. She loves to groom animals and to be in the animal environment. She is currently studying to become an animal care specialist.

	Kyle, Veterinary Technician Kyle recently graduated from George Mason University with a bachelors degree in business and moved back to his home town of Newport News. He enjoys working with animals and has four dogs of his own. He is looking forward to launching the new boarding facilities at Woodland where the animals will enjoy their new accommodations.
